You do NOT need to wait 24 hours. The sooner you report it, the faster the police can respond.

🟦 How to Report a Missing Child

  • Visit your local police station, or

  • Call 101

  • If the child is in immediate danger, call 999

 

🟩 Information the Police Will Ask For

  • Child’s full name, age, and date of birth

  • Description and any identifying marks

  • A recent photograph

  • What they were last wearing

  • Their mobile number and social media accounts

  • Friends, contacts, or places they may go

  • Any medical needs or medication

  • Previous missing episodes

  • Known triggers or reasons they may run away

  • Recent behaviour changes

  • Family or home circumstances

  • Any arguments, incidents, or concerns

  • School or college issues

  • Anything else that may help officers locate them
